Untitled-1
Updated 05/11/2023: We had our first litters arrive on May 11, 2023. Both Couples 3 and 5 delivered many healthy babies. We will continue to make updates to this page as more litters arrive. Please send an inquiry if you would like to put down a deposit, be added to the emailed notifications list, and be ready to scope out the For Sale page soon where we will post all remaining babies available to the general public.
This has been an exciting breeding year. More couples found love than any year prior. We have 9 different Northern couples expecting and 2 different Irian Jaya couples expecting. Typically anywhere from 70% – 100% of the mothers bring us bundles of joy in late spring and early summer. We expect nothing less this year.

If 100% of the mothers produce healthy, viable babies for us, we will have an offering of 2 Irian Jaya litters, 1 Classic Northern litter, 3 Half Specialty Morph Northern litters, and 5 Specialty Morph Northern litters.

The best photos of the parents can be seen on the Meet The Skinks page. Note Karen is missing. She came to us towards the end of season last year and we never got good photos before it was time for brumation. On our first warm and sunny day, she will have individual pictures taken and added to the Meet The Skinks tab.

You may send a message with your contact info to be added to our email notifications list or to put down a deposit on a baby for the 2023 season.

First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
Proven Breeder
Confidence:
High
Breeding Date:
12/31/2022 – 01/16/2023

Notes: Dinobot will be 16 years young soon. Last year was her first litter. I anticipate babies again from her in summer 2023.
Gladys and George
Couple 2
Notes: Gladys has produced for us every year she’s been here, except last year (2022). Everybody needs a break some years. She was eager to breed throughout the entire season. I expect feisty, plump babies from her again this year.
Subspecies:
Indonesian Irian Jaya (Tiliqua Sp.)
Parents:
Gladys and George
Genetics:
Red x Classic
Times Bred:
Six
First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:

Couple 3
Karen and Carl
Subspecies:
Northern Australian (Tiliqua Scincoides Intermedia)
Parents:
Karen and Carl
Genetics:
Classic
Times Bred:
5
First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
Proven Breeder
Baby Head Count:
5
Breeding Date:
01/07/2023 – 01/22/2023
Birth Date:
05/11/2023
Notes: Karen was produced in 2015 by Sweet Arrow Reptiles. She bred successfully for them. When Sweet Arrow ceased operations, she went to live with Living Art where she bred successfully for Frank, but not in 2022. She arrived at Dave’s Skinks shortly before brumation in Fall 2022, so it will take us a while longer to take her outdoor photos and upload a Meet The Skinks profile for her. But we can confirm she is a Classic Northern with the markings we look for: Healthy disposition, Large stature, Easy to handle, and a Reduction in the traditional side bands.

She is already getting moody on us which is a good sign she’s gravid.
Couple 4
Jellybean and Jasper
Subspecies:
Northern Australian (Tiliqua Scincoides Intermedia)
Parents:
Jellybean and Jasper
Genetics:
50% Classic, 43.75% Sunrise, 6.25% Red
Times Bred:
5
First Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
Proven Breeder
Baby Head Count:
7 and counting
Breeding Date:
01/07/2023 – 01/24/2023
Birth Date:
05/14/2023

Notes: Both Jasper and Jellybean have been excellent breeders for us. Jellybean has the personality of a Labrador Retriever and Jasper is as golden as the sun. This is their first time pairing together so I eagerly await what’s in store. Jellybean usually has a larger litter than most, 10+ babies.
Couple 5
Katherine Night and Jasper
Subspecies:
Northern Australian (Tiliqua Scincoides Intermedia)
Parents:
Katherine Night and Jasper
Genetics:
43.75% Sunrise, 25% T+ Caramel, 25% Fenn Orange, 6.25% Red
Times Bred:
3
First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
Proven Breeder
Baby Head Count:
14
Breeding Date:
01/05/2023 – 01/28/2023
Birth Date:
05/11/2023

Notes: Katherine and Jasper have been wonderful breeders for us in the past. Their babies last year had heightened color over a standard classic but they all featured our goal of traditional dark side band reduction. They honestly came out looking like New Girl if you want to take a gander at her for reference. Over the years though, Katherine’s litters have shrunk in size. I only have hopes for 1-3 babies from her later this year.
Couple 6
Hermione Granger and Jasper
Subspecies:
Northern Australian (Tiliqua Scincoides Intermedia)
Parents:
Hermione Granger and Jasper
Genetics:
50% Classic, 43.75% Sunrise, 6.25% Red
Times Bred:
5
First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
Proven Breeder
Baby Head Count:
6 and counting
Breeding Date:
01/13/2023 – 01/31/2023
Birth Date:
05/19/2023

Notes: Hermione has been a fun project. She came to us after having one litter with one baby years past. Then she didn’t breed for a while. Then she didn’t breed for me for a couple years. But last year she had a massive litter with large babies that all featured the reduction in traditional dark sidebands we’re going for. But she was super eager to breed this year and is already getting protective of her body and the enclosure so all good signs we duplicate the magic this year. With the coloration of both parents, I expect all babies to have a fairer and brighter coloration by adulthood.
Couple 7
New Girl and Carl
Subspecies:
Northern Australian (Tiliqua Scincoides Intermedia)
Parents:
New Girl and Carl
Genetics:
50% Classic, 18.75% Sunrise, 12.5% T+ Caramel, 6.25% Red
Times Bred:
2
First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
Proven Breeder
Confidence:
Medium
Breeding Date:
01/28/2023 – 02/01/2023
Birth Date:

Notes: This was a bit of an unusual breeding session. New Girl usually is a great producer for us. This year she really wasn’t in the mood to breed. When she finally got in the mood, she was just as quick to cast Carl aside a couple days later. They did have two successful locks, so that’s the positive. But we’ll see. It’s always a fun surprise finding babies in the tanks with mom.
Couple 8
Logan and Jasper
Subspecies:
Northern Australian (Tiliqua Scincoides Intermedia)
Parents:
Logan and Jasper
Genetics:
43.75% Sunrise, 31.25% Red, 25% Magma
Times Bred:
5
First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
First Timer
Confidence:
Medium
Breeding Date:
01/15/2023 – 02/03/2023
Birth Date:

Notes: Logan is going to be a first-time mother for us. Without a breeding history, I never place high expectations on the outcome. But fingers crossed for some extra special, extra vibrant babies featuring a reduction in the traditional dark side bands.

This is the litter I have my personal eye on. If a baby presents itself with the look to take our breeding project a step further, we will be keeping a holdback from this litter. Because of that, we will wait to release babies from this litter until their third shed, instead of the typical 1-2 skin sheds before release from most other litters. These will be the most expensive babies we produce in 2023.
Couple 9
Tequila and Jasper
Subspecies:
Northern Australian (Tiliqua Scincoides Intermedia)
Parents:
Tequila and Jasper
Genetics:
50% T+ Caramel, 43.75% Sunrise, 6.25% Red
Times Bred:
6
First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
Proven Breeder
Baby Head Count:
14 and counting
Breeding Date:
01/08/2023 – 02/04/2023
Birth Date:
05/25/2023

Notes: This too is one of the litters I have my eye on for a potential holdback. Tequila is our smallest adult female. Kind of comes with the T+ Caramel territory. She typically only breeds every other year and slugged out in 2022. We are hoping for great things from her this season. It”s only been a couple of weeks since her breeding concluded but she has been craving food like no other year. I’m hopeful that’s a real positive sign.
Couple 10
Goldilocks and Carl
Subspecies:
Northern Australian (Tiliqua Scincoides Intermedia)
Parents:
Goldilocks and Carl
Genetics:
50% Sunrise x 50% Classic
Times Bred:
5
First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
Proven Breeder
Confidence:
High
Breeding Date:
01/16/2023 – 02/05/2023
Birth Date:
Notes: Goldilocks has always been a great producer for us. She has the sweetest personality and gets even nicer when she’s gravid. She’s already obsessively sunbathing which is a strong sign she’s got some buns cooking in the oven. Carl and Goldilocks have paired up in years past and their babies always feature high yellow and light orange tones.
Couple 11
Magmar and Blizzard
Subspecies:
Northern Australian (Tiliqua Scincoides Intermedia)
Parents:
Magmar and Blizzard
Genetics:
50% Magma x 50% Hypo
Times Bred:
3
First-Time Mother or Proven Breeder:
Proven Breeder
Confidence:
Low
Breeding Date:
01/29/2023 – 02/12/2023
Birth Date:

Notes: Blizzard is a proven breeder but all three of his partners at Dave’s Skinks in 2022 slugged out after 6 consecutive years without a single female slugging out (delivering 100% unfertilized eggs). This year we only paired him with Magmar. Magmar has delivered for us all years past, but she recently had a vet visit where I asked them to x-ray her. No signs of babies cooking yet as of 02/13/2023.
