Breeding Couples 2024

Updated 04/27/2024: Baby season has started! A little early if I’m being honest. With each litter that is born, we will send out notifications to subscribers and update information below with each breeding couple. We anticipate babies gradually being born through mid June, though late arrivals are always possible. Information below is good and relevant but you are likely seeking the For Sale page to view babies ready for their forever homes.

Updated 04/04/2024: Our breeding season ran from 01/04/2024 – 02/15/2024. All breeding couples are posted below.

Typically anywhere from 70% – 100% of the mothers bring us bundles of joy in late spring and early summer. 10 of 11 mothers produced in 2023. With enough luck, we’re in store for an amazing 2024. Should we have a 100% success rate, we will have an offering of 2 Irian Jaya litters, 2 Classic Northern Litters, 6 Half-Specialty Morph Northern Litters , and 4 Specialty Morph Northern Litters.

Please reach out to put down an early-bird deposit on the 2024 baby season. Deposit holders got first dibs on litter selection and first dibs on baby selection from their chosen litter. Not ready to commit? Please add yourself to the emailed notifications list.

Babies are usually born in May and June and posted to the For Sale page after 1-3 sheds.

Pairs are different every year. The best photos of the parents can be seen on the Meet The Skinks page, but we have three additional breeding adults mentioned below who have not been added to the Meet The Skinks yet. We look forward to updating their profiles soon.

Please familiarize yourself with our Purchase Rules for additional questions. If you would like to be added to the email list for any subspecies, just send me a message with your contact info. I’ll be sending out emails to those who wish, as litters get born or if anything changes.

Please feel free to reach out if there’s any further questions.

Couple 1

  • Species: Irian Jaya (Tiliqua sp.)
  • Parents: Dinobot & George
  • Birthdate: June 2, 2024
  • Successful Locks: 3
  • Dates Bred: 01/04/2024 – 01/08/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: Half Red
  • Female History: Experienced Mother
  • Confidence Level: High
  • Results: 3 healthy babies
  • Notes: Dinobot did a quick 3 and out. We took a brief pause from breeding. Went for round 4 and she was all head shakes and no hanky-panky.

Couple 2

  • Species: Irian Jaya (Tiliqua sp.)
  • Parents: Gladys & George
  • Birthdate: May 24, 2024
  • Successful Locks: 4
  • Dates Bred: 01/05/2024 – 01/27/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: Half Red
  • Female History: Exlierienced Mother
  • Confidence Level: Medium/High
  • Results: 8 perfect babies
  • Notes: Gladys is always a reliable breeder and dedicated mother. She’s weary to let me hold them, but as expected, they’re large and healthy. Babies seem actually a bit nicer this year, lol.

Couple 3

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Cinnamon & Jasper
  • Successful Locks: 3
  • Dates Bred: 01/04/2024 – 01/31/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: 43.75% Sunrise x 25% T+ Caramel x 18.75% Sunrise x 12.5% Red
  • Female History: First Time Breeding
  • Confidence Level: Medium
  • Notes: Cinnamon was born in-house. She is Tequila’s daughter and demonstrates a distinct absence of the traditional dark side bands – a key objective of our breeding project. She’s been hesitant to breed in past years attempts, but she lost her virginity in 2024! I never have super high hopes on a female without a successful breeding history, but this is going to be one of the few litters I really have my eye on.

Couple 4

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Hermione Granger & Carl
  • Birthdate: May 18, 2024
  • Successful Locks: 4
  • Dates Bred: 01/04/2024 – 01/14/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: Classic (Light and Reduced Side-Banding Classic to High Orange Classic)
  • Female History: Experienced Mother
  • Confidence Level: Medium/High
  • Results: 13 perfect babies
  • Notes: Hermione is always a reliable breeder and dedicated mother. She’s weary to let me hold them, but she’s actually a little bit more affectionate with me right now which is pretty nice.

Couple 5

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Tequila & Jasper
  • Birthdate: June 9, 2024
  • Successful Locks: 3
  • Dates Bred: 01/05/2024 – 02/01/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: 50% T+ Caramel x 43.75% Sunrise, 6.25%Red
  • Female History: Experienced Mother
  • Confidence Level: Medium
  • Results: 2 unfertilized eggs. Zero babies
  • Notes: Tequila is one of those hit or miss breeders. My smallest Northern female delivered a whopping 16 babies last year! She’s also taken years off breeding, produced zero babies, just slugs, and a smaller litter. She’s not sunbathing but she is eating. 100% of her 16-baby litter last year with Jasper came out with that winning personality you hope for. We want to duplicate the magic this year.

Couple 6

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Large Marge & Carl
  • Birth Date: May 11, 2024
  • Dates Bred: 01/09/2024 – 01/22/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: 50% Classic (High Orange) x 25% Fenn Orange x 25% T+ Caramel
  • Female History: First Timer
  • Results: 10 perfectly healthy babies and three unfertilized eggs
  • Notes: Large Marge is a mother! She was looking large and ready to burst. All 10 babies born strong, healthy, and ate their placenta. She gave birth to all 10 within a three hour window between 11am – 2pm. 111 days gestation.

Couple 7

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Jellybean & Jasper
  • Birthdate: May 25, 2024
  • Successful Locks: 3
  • Dates Bred: 01/13/2024 – 02/04/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: 50% Classic x 43.75% Sunrise, 6.25%Red
  • Female History: Experienced Mother
  • Confidence Level: High
  • Results: 4 babies, 5 unfertilized egg
  • Notes: Jellybean was never looking super huge. She’s delivered a number of litters for me. between 6-16 babies. We’ll see how many we get.

Couple 8

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Magmar & Carl
  • Birth Date: April 27, 2024
  • Dates Bred: 01/15/2024 – 02/04/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: 50% Magma x 50% Classic (High Orange)
  • Female History: Experienced Mother
  • Results: 5 babies that sadly did not make it
  • Notes: Magmar had quite a normal and uneventful pregnancy. She expelled the babies early for an unestablished finding. 84 days just wasn’t enough. She’s doing quite well after the fact though. Sometimes these things happen. Unfortunate and sad. But since Magmar is well, we can try again when she’s ready.

Couple 9

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Logan & Jasper
  • Birthdate: June 16, 2024

  • Genetics of Offspring: 43.75% Sunrise x 31.25% Red x 25% F2 Magma
  • Female History: Second Time Breeding
  • Results: 14 colorful babies
  • Notes: Logan delivered her first litter last year after her first time breeding, also with Jasper. Many babies came out a bit burgundy red but a few came out fire truck red and flame orange. Shes’a already out sunbathing. This is another specialty litter to keep an eye on.

Couple 10

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Katherine Night & Carl
  • Birth Date: May 3, 2024
  • Dates Bred: 01/21/2024 – 01/30/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: 50% Classic (High Orange) x 25% Fenn Orange x 25% T+ Caramel
  • Female History: Experienced Mother
  • Results: 4 amazing babies, and three more that sadly did not make it
  • Notes: Katherine has delivered large, medium, and small litters for me over the years. She gave birth a little prematurely at 95 days. Another two weeks would have been better. 11 unfertilized eggs and 7 babies. Had all those eggs taken, this would’ve been a massive litter. 5 of the 7 babies ate their placenta and seemed to be doing well all day one and two. But the two who were unable to eat their placenta had me worried. Over the first 3-4 days, the two week babies slowly lost their strength until they passed. A third babies also lost it’s muster. We took notice of the weak ones and provided them with hand fed Carnivore Care, high protein formula, and extra heat to give them the best chance. The three weakest born may no longer be with us but 4 of their siblings are eating every day and up to the same size and weight as their cousins born at the 111 day mark.

Couple 11

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Karen & Carl
  • Birthdate: June 6, 2024
  • Successful Locks: 3
  • Dates Bred: 01/24/2024 – 01/30/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: (Reduced Side Bands Classic to High Orange Classic)
  • Female History: Experienced Mother
  • Confidence Level: Medium/High
  • Results: 16 perfect classic blue tongue babies

Notes: Biggest litter of the year! And all babies coming out with that winning personality you want.

Karen is a good breeder who was eager to breed, and eager to stop breeding – a tell tale sign she knows she’s gravid. We will update more as her behavior shows evidence in the months to come.

Couple 12

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Kinsuki & John Wayne
  • Birthdate: June 28, 2024
  • Successful Locks: 2
  • Dates Bred: 01/27/2024 – 02/03/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: 37.5% T+ Caramel x 25% Sunset x 21.875% Sunrise x 12.5% Fenn Orange x 3.125% Red
  • Female History: Second Time Mother
  • Confidence Level: Medium / Low
  • Results: 7 healthy specialty morph babies
  • Notes: 147 days geastation! long time for a Northern. But the start date was presumably delayed as Kinsuke spent a long while in the cool part of the tank before embracing the warm. I presumed the swimmers left inside were no good anymore, but life finds a way. Congratulations to Kinsuke’s most successful litter, first litter with us, and ot John Wayne’s first litter, making these my great gandbaby skinks.

John Wayne was born in-house to Katherine Night & Jasper. He finally manned up and popped his cherry this season. He’s named John Wayne because he locked into Kinsuki when without the use of his mouth or claws. Ride em’ cowboy. Yee-haw. Kinsuki doesn’t have the strongest breeding history. A few missed years. One successful litter. She took last year off as she settled into her new home at Dave’s Skinks. Hopes are not tremendously high for the couple this season but if they have babies, this is definitely a litter I’ll be keeping an eye on.

Couple 13

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: New Girl & Carl
  • Successful Locks: 2
  • Dates Bred: 02/04/2024 – 02/09/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: 50% Classic (High Orange) x 18.75% Sunrise, 12.5% T+ Caramel, 12.5% Fenn Orange, 6.25% Red
  • Female History: Experienced Mother
  • Confidence Level: High
  • Notes: Sometimes just once or twice is all you need. New Girl is already eating, sunbathing, and marching. All strong signs she’s gravid.

Couple 14

  • Species: Northern (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia)
  • Parents: Goldilocks & Carl
  • Successful Locks: 3
  • Dates Bred: 02/08/2024 – 02/15/2024
  • Genetics of Offspring: 50% Sunrise x 50% High Orange Classic
  • Female History: Experienced Mother
  • Confidence Level: High
  • Notes: Likely our last litter to deliver but Goldilocks has been a great pet, a great breeder, and an amazing mother. She had a late start this season but Carl couldn’t pass up another willing partner. He’s a real stud muffin.
