UPDATE 10/15/2025: We have concluded the 2025 Baby Season, Whooo!!! We really outdid ourselves this year. All mothers had easy and healthy births. We produced a total of 77 Northern Australian Blue-Tongued Skink babies and 7 Indonesian Irian Jayas. All CBB (Captive Born and Bred). There were 11 Skink couples and while only 7 of them gave us bundles of joy, most delivered above average sized litters. It’s hard to predict what happens with blue tongue breeding. We bred less total couples in 2025 compared to 2024 or 2023 but we ended up with close to our highest quantity regardless. With changing market behaviors and additional responsibilities in my personal life, we do anticipate breeding less total couples in 2026 for an estimated total of 50-70 babies next year. Over the next few weeks all adults will go down for their winter cool down cycle to get ready for the next breeding season called brumating. We will wake them up around Christmas and begin breeding in January 2025. We expect first babies in mid-May 2026.
